HOW TO BROWSE THE CATALOG:

You can be as specific as you want in browsing the catalog. You can use as many or as few of the options available to you.

VIDEO SEARCH
The video search page gives you seven options to choose from, and each option has a drop-down box offering additional options:

Title - hit the drop-down arrow and select "contains" and enter a key word (i.e., reconciliation)

Level - hit the drop-down arrow and select "contains" and enter the age level of the persons for whom the video is intended:
P = Primary grades (1 - 3)
I = Intermediate grades (4 - 6)
J = Junior High school
S = Senior High school
A = Adult

ACC# (Accession #) - if you know the catalog number for the item you want to check on, enter it here

NOTE: BE SURE TO USE ACC# - NOT THE NUMBER PRECEDING THE TITLE - TO REQUEST VIDEOS!

Code - hit the drop-down arrow and select "contains" and enter the type of resource that you are looking for:
D = DVD
R = CD Rom
V = video
C = audiocassette tape
K = kit (multimedia, programmatic materials)

Length - hit the drop-down arrow and select the time frame that suits your needs

Company - enter the producer/publisher name

Description - hit the drop-down arrow and select "contains" and enter a key word (i.e. reconciliation)

Once you have made the selections for your search, hit the "start search" button on the left sidebar on your screen. Any item that meets the criterion you selected will appear. Be sure to go all the way across the screen to find out all the details of each item listed. Also, only 10 to 12 items appear on each page, so you may need to page through to view all the items available.

BOOK SEARCH
The book search page operates the same way, but some of the options are different:

Title - same as video

Author - hit the drop-down arrow and select "contains" and enter first or last name of the author (or even just a part of one of the names). Remember that spelling counts here!

Copyright - enter date

Publisher - enter name of publisher

Accession # (ACC#) - if you know the catalog number for the item you want, enter it here

NOTE: BE SURE TO USE ACC# - NOT THE NUMBER PRECEDING THE TITLE - TO REQUEST BOOKS

Call letters - these letters are used to categorize the books. To sort by category, enter your search request like this: "A E" (Be sure there is a space between the two letters and quotation marks at each end.)
The categories are:
A E = Adult Education
A R = Arch Books
C G = Catechetics General
C A = Catechisms
C D = Church Documents
C H = Church History
D P = Developmental Psychology
E C = Ecumenism (includes Comparative Religion)
E D = Education General
F L = Family Life
F R = Family Resources
L C = Literature for Children (includes fiction)
L W = Liturgy and Worship
M C = Media and Communications
M L = Ministry and Leadership
M S = Miscellaneous (includes management)
M T = Morality/Moral Theology
N A = Native American Issues
P J = Peace and Justice (includes P H = Philosophy Sociology, Political Theology)
P S = Prayer and Spirituality
P C = Psychology and Counseling (includes devotions, saints)
R M = Renew Supplement and Small Group Resources
S T = Sacraments/Sacramental Theology
S G = Scripture Theology - General
S P = Scripture
S C = Scripture for Children
S N = Scripture - New Testament
S O =Scripture - Old Testament
S E = Special Education
T G = Theology (general)
Y M = Youth Ministry
