Accountant starts new job at chancery

Mike Coryell, who calls Cut Bank his hometown, is the new accountant for the Diocese of Helena’s Financial Services office. He started work at the Chancery last week.
He moved to Helena from Colstrip, where he worked for 24 years at Western Energy and previously at Montana Power. He said he applied for the Chancery position when it opened, and couldn’t be happier to work for the diocese.
Coryell attended St. Margaret Catholic school and graduated from Cut Bank High School. He studied at Montana State University in Bozeman several years, and finished his master’s degree in accounting at MSU-Billings.
One of his big interests in life is sports. He said he coached a recreation district team in Colstrip, and has been a football, softball and baseball official.
He has also been active in parish life, and was registered at Cathedral of St. Helena before he moved to the capital city, thanks to a friend who works for the parish.
Coryell said a cousin of his lives in Helena, as well as his college roommate and other friends.
