Pastoral and renewal services position filled

After a temporary vacancy in the division, Mark Frei has filled the position of director of Pastoral and Renewal Services for the Diocese of Helena. Frei holds a bachelor of arts degree and a bachelor of philosophy degree.
There are various areas identified as priorities in the pastoral plan, Come to the Light, that will be resourced by this division; those areas include programs that support initiatives around the New Evangelization and outreach to the needs of rural and Native American parishes in the diocese. The division also supports diocesan social justice education and ministry outreach through such services as the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services, Aid to the Needy, the pro-life movement and others. Support for family life is offered through Marriage Encounter, Engaged Encounter, Retrouvaille and Natural Family Planning.
An increased focus on the diocesan mission in Guatemala and its promotion throughout the diocese that is mandated through the pastoral plan is facilitated through Frei’s division.
Frei also serves as the chancery liaison to the Montana Catholic Conference, the Montana Association of Churches and Catholic Social Services of Montana.
He encourages those with interests in the pastoral and renewal programs to contact him at mfrei@diocesehelena.org or phone 442-5820, ext. 15.
