A component of the capital campaign from Age to Age includes funding for parishes and missions. Once a parish has surpassed its 2008 Diocesan Offertory Program target in redemption dollars, 20 percent of the net funds collected up to its overall campaign target will return to the parish.

If a parish exceeds its campaign target, it will then receive 80 percent of funds raised above and beyond the overall parish target. Development Services Director Bernie Hewitt referred to the campaign literature, noting that the diocesan parishes and missions case element acknowledges the importance of parish communities, and the need for financial stability in those communities to “more fully live the call ‘to teach, sanctify, and guide.’”

Thus, in January, qualifying parishes and missions will see the fruits of their capital campaign labor. Hewitt said that disbursements in January will range from $0 to approximately $23,000.

Disbursements will occur twice a year, in January and July. Parishes participating in a “piggyback” campaign do not qualify for disbursements.
