A team of 23 people has been selected to serve at Legendary Lodge, the Diocese of Helena’s summer camp on Salmon Lake, this summer. The camp provides an outdoor youth ministry experience for youth in grades five through 12.

Eight camps are scheduled and 634 young people are signed up to attend, according to Doug Tooke, youth and young adult minister for the diocese.

Colleen Dunne, a campus minister at Carroll College, is returning for her ninth summer at the Lodge. She has an assistant director this year, Sarah McLaughlin, and an administrative assistant, Kevin Jam; both graduated from Carroll last weekend.

Father Marc Lenneman, Carroll College chaplain and director of campus ministry and the school’s Borromeo pre-seminary program, will be at the Lodge during the summer.

Five counselors/life guards are on the team – Brian Bergeron, a seminarian at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon; Jennifer Blood, a University of Montana student; Ali Dombrouski of University of San Diego, Calif.; Kayla Murray, a recent Montana State University-Billings graduate; Sammy Priddy from Carroll College and Patrick Hurley, another seminarian at Mount Angel Seminary.

Counselors include Frankie Barnhill from College of St. Catherine, Minn.; Eric Connolly and Tyler Grutsch of University of Montana; Justin Goss of Montana State University; Mandy Secord of University of Montana; Patrick Hyle, who just graduated from Mount Angel Seminary College; and Lindsey Cornelius, Jenna Kesler and Kelly Ruby of Carroll College.

Several counselors – Travis Grotbo and Katie Murray – just graduated from Carroll College.

Tara Kloker, athletic trainer for Helena High School, joined the team as the head cook. Ryan Johnson from the University of Montana is the assistant cook.

Catholic Formation Services reports that the boys and junior high 3 camps still have openings.
