Over a year and a half has passed since the from Age to Age capital campaign officially began. And July marked the second time qualifying parishes participating in the Good Faith Effort received payments as part of the capital campaign. Checks were delivered in early July, said Development Services Director Bernie Hewitt.
The total payout was $123,000, with individual parish payouts ranging from $0 to $12,297. The specific listing of parish payouts is available online at www.diocesehelena.org/capcam.
To be eligible, parishes are required to meet their DOP 2008 goal first. Once the DOP goal is met in cash, then 20 cents on any future dollar collected is allocated towards the parish return and 80 cents to the diocese. If the parish exceeds its respective goal, then any future dollars raised would be split 80 percent to the parish and 20 percent to the diocese.
Payouts to parishes are distributed January and July of each year.
All are asked to continue to pray for the success of the campaign, Hewitt said.
More information about the allocation of received monies will be in future issues of The Montana Catholic. Questions about the campaign may be directed to Hewitt at 442-5820, ext. 27.
