The Foundation for the Diocese of Helena trustees have approved $15,000 in grants that are to be awarded in the next fiscal year. Based on recommendations from the Foundation’s Outreach Committee, the trustees on April 26 approved the following awards:

Holy Spirit Parish, Butte
Permanent deacon formation: $1,000

Holy Family Parish, Three Forks
Passageway/restroom: $2,000

St. Ignatius Mission
Catechist/adult formation: $1,700

St. Mary, Helena
Sound system equipment: $1,000

St. Margaret, Cut Bank
Vacation Bible school: $350

St. Francis, Valier
Vacation Bible school: $350

St. Anthony, Missoula
Books for Catechists/RCIA Program: $520

Clinica Maxeña, Guatemala
Laptops, digital camera, software: $3,140

St. Michael, Conrad
Carpet replacement: $1,300

St. Mary, Stevensville
Sound system equipment: $1,000

Little Flower, Browning
Legendary Lodge camp scholarships: $1,640


Beth Yeakel, Foundation Services director, said trustees instituted the grants program in 2007 to help provide funding for parishes or programs lacking money for specific ministries or projects, and to increase within the diocese the awareness and recognition of the Foundation.
