Bishop George Leo Thomas visited Mount Angel Abbey Seminary, located in Mount Angel, Ore., in October. His visit included participating in the annual Seminary Episcopal Council meeting. The Episcopal Council includes the bishops and vocation directors from the dioceses that utilize Mount Angel for seminarian formation. The members of the council consider information regarding the operation of the seminary and provide consultation to seminary officials in their responsibilities. During the visit, Bishop Thomas spent time with the seminarians in priestly formation for the Diocese of Helena.
