Above, Ben Seitz, campaign director for Helena 40 Days for Life, talks to people who gathered
outside of Planned Parenthood in Helena on Tuesday, Oct. 13, to support 40 Days for
Life, a 40-day campaign against abortion. Upward of 30 participants each placed small
flags on city-owned land near Planned Parenthood. Each flag represented one of the 155
Helena abortions cited in 2009 figures compiled by the Montana Department of Public
Health and Human Services. The flag event was intended to “get people revitalized and reenergized”
midway through the 40-day campaign, said Seitz. Father Stuart Long of Helena,
pictured in the right corner of the top photograph, offered a prayer at the beginning of the
event.
