Bishop George Leo Thomas has announced several mid-year assignment changes, which took effect Oct. 1.

Father Victor E. Langhans has resigned as pastor of St. Matthew Parish in Kalispell and received senior status in the Diocese of Helena. As his schedule allows, he will be available to assist with substitution in the diocese.

Father Roderick Ermatinger has been assigned as administrator at St. Matthew in Kalispell. He has been assisting Father Michael Drury at St. William Parish in Shelby and its St. Thomas Aquinas Mission in Sunburst; at St. Margaret Parish in Cut Bank; and at St. Francis Parish in Valier and its Holy Cross Mission in Dupuyer.

Father Jack De Verteuil is now assigned to assist Father Drury at those parishes and missions. Father De Verteuil is a priest of Alaska’s Diocese of Fairbanks. He is serving in the Diocese of Helena with his bishop’s authorization.

Father Romanus Onyekuru of the Society of African Missions is assisting Father Frank Wright at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Butte. In the coming months they will offer mission formation opportunities, particularly those through the Society of African Missions.
