Frenchtown Latin Mass continues
Sunday, Feb. 5, is the next date for celebration
of the Extraordinary Form of the
Liturgy of the Mass, according to the 1962
edition of the Roman Missal and as permitted
by Pope Benedict XVI (in Summorum
Pontificum), at St. John the Baptist Church
in Frenchtown. Mass will begin at noon.
Confessions will be heard at 11 a.m. and
the rosary will be prayed at 11:30 a.m. The
Mass is offered monthly. A luncheon that
follows in the parish center.
Bozeman monthly Spanish Mass
Sunday, Feb. 5, is the next date for celebration
of Mass in Spanish at Resurrection
Parish in Bozeman. The Mass will be
at 1 p.m. It is celebrated on the first Sunday
of each month.
High school Come & See Weekend in Indiana
On Feb. 17-19, the Sisters of St. Benedict
in Ferdinand, Ind., will hold a Come
& See event for high school girls, freshmen
to seniors. The weekend is an opportunity
to learn what it is like to be a nun in today’s
world. Pray, eat, and recreate with the sisters.

Vocation weekend
The Benedictine sisters at St. Martin
Monastery in Rapid City, S.D., plan a vocation
weekend March 2-4. Single
women, ages 18-55, who think they may
be interested in a religious vocation are invited
to participate in the weekend of discernment,
discussion and prayer.

Retreat for men
A Lenten retreat for men of all faiths
will take place on Saturday, March 3, at
Holy Family Parish in Anaconda. “Nail It
To The Cross” is the title of the retreat,
now in its third year. The day will start at 8
a.m. and end at 4 p.m. The $15 cost of registration
includes lunch, refreshments, materials
and a gift. The organizers request
that participants register before the retreat
and pay the fee the morning of March 3. To

Sisters of Mercy Volunteer opps
Mercy Volunteer Corps, a lay volunteer
program sponsored by the Sisters of
Mercy, provides opportunities for men and
women to give a year of service to people
in need. The program, open to volunteers
over age 21, emphasizes service, community
and prayer. Possible areas of work include
teaching, nursing and service in
homeless shelters, clinics and social service
agencies. Opportunities are in rural and
urban settings throughout the United States
and Guyana. Volunteers receive room,
board, medical insurance and small
stipends. Loan deferments are available,
and volunteers may request the Ameri-
Corps Education Award, which can be
spent for education, training or studentloan

Missoula Secular Franciscans
People who want a deeper experience
of Christ and knowledge of the humble and
peace-loving traditions of St. Francis of
Assisi may contact the Secular Franciscan
Order in Missoula. It is a group of Missoula-
area lay persons who meet monthly
in fraternity and are married, single or divorced.
A two-year discernment period is
required. Meetings begin at 10 a.m. the
second Saturday of each month in the
Loyola Chapel behind the parish center at

Sisters provide opportunities to experience monastic life
Single, Catholic women who have considered
monastic life are invited to spend a
week with the Benedictine Sisters of Duluth,
Minn., or schedule an extended stay
for six months or longer.
Visitors will live and pray with the sisters
at St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth.
Room and board are provided, and the
scheduling of visits is flexible. More information

Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites
St. Joseph, Guardian of the Redeemer,
is a Butte-based group of the Secular Order
of Discalced Carmelites, with members
from Helena, Bozeman, Belgrade, Missoula,
Anaconda and Butte. Secular
Carmelites are called to make prayer penetrate
their entire existence. The group
meets in the library at Butte Central
Catholic High School on the third Sunday
