ACA 2011 | Diocese of Helena

The Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) has a long history in the Diocese of Helena of raising funds to support various ministries promoted by the bishop. For nearly 40 years, this appeal was known as the Diocesan Offertory Program, or DOP. In the spring of 2009, the Diocesan Offertory Program was moved from its usual spring time frame to the fall, and given a new name: Annual Catholic Appeal. This appeal for funds is conducted yearly.

The program provides approximately one third of the overall budget for the diocese and is a very important component to providing the resources needed to support the many activities, programs and ministries of the Church in western Montana.

The ACA 2010 campaign as of August 31, 2011 is at 77.82%, or $1,322,946 of the $1.7 million goal. Across the diocese, the average participation rate was 34%, with a total of 5,972 donors, and a 95% redemption rate. The average pledged gift to ACA 2010 was $222.

Glenda Seipp, diocesan Stewardship and Annual Giving Services Director, administers the program and is assisted in her efforts by both diocesan and parish support staff who follow a prescribed plan to complete the appeal.
