The Chancery is the administrative center for the Diocese of Helena that hosts most of its primary divisions and offices. Located in a historic three-level building at 515 North Ewing in Helena, the Chancery has supported the needs of the Catholic Church in Western Montana for many years. We at the Chancery believe it is our collective mission to spread the word of God throughout the Diocese of Helena by our actions and speech in a manner that is consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church and in accordance with direction we receive from our Bishop. In addition, we exist to support the various parishes, missions, schools, and other entities in the diocese in fulfilling their respective missions to serve and educate Catholics residing in the Diocese of Helena.

Chancery Services Director

Sister Rita McGinnis, SCL, currently serves as the director of Chancery Services.

Office Hours

The Chancery is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The facility is closed on religious holidays and during the primary secular holidays.
