Having been revised to conform to the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People agreed to by the U.S. Bishops and approved by Rome, this version of the Diocese of Helena Policy Regarding Abuse of Minors, Sexual Misconduct and Sexual Harassment went into effect April 16, 2007. The former version of the diocesan policy had been in effect since June 1, 1993.

All questions, concerns or allegations related to sexual abuse in the Diocese of Helena
should be directed to Sister Rita McGinnis, SCL, Diocesan Contact Person for victims and for the Safe Environment programs. She can be reached by e-mail here or at (406) 442-5820.

Any person who believes that a minor has been abused by a cleric, church worker or volunteer is encouraged to report the incident to Sister Rita McGinnis, SCL.

All information received will be treated with confidentiality. All alleged victims are advised of their right to report the alleged abuse to public authorities.
